CAMERA SHY

I have always hated having my picture taken and usually try to avoid the camera at all costs but today I have had a change of heart.
I was trying to find a picture of my mom for my Primary lesson and I looked through about 8 albums and could only find only 2 pictures. My mom hated having her picture taken and would almost get mad at us when we tried to take her picture, but now we have very few pictures of her to remember her by.
I came to realize that by being so paraniod about how I look in the picture I am taking something away from my children and grandchildren. I really miss my mom and I wish I had more pictures of her. Her grandchildren are hard pressed to remember her and what she looked like. I will try to be more co-operative of picture taking so that I can leave a photo geneology for my family.
After all a picture tells more than a thousand words.

  1. Amen Lori! Amen! Very well said.

I totally agree with this post.....I too have a hard time having my picture taken. It's funny how that seems to be with SO many women. But like you I suddenly realized that my kids NEED to see more pictures of me to remember me by. Every picture brings back a memory of a time or place. It's those memories that count.

P.S. Remember... We are just our own worst critics. You totally ROCK a picture. Seriously. Where did you get your frames? I LOVE them!

  2. I loved your insight in this post! Words to ponder for me too because as the mom I'm usually behind the camera.

  3. I'm so proud of your decision. You actually are quite photogenic and I love that you're smiling in most of them. My grandmother never smiled in hers and my mom rarely does, so way to go.
