Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

We were on our way to Fairmont today and decided to stop at a rest spot by the highway to eat some lunch and take a break. While we were sitting there this huge raven decided to come and check us out. I was a little nervous that he was going to fly right into our car as he was not afraid of us at all. I think he was used to bumming food from unsuspecting motorists. Kind of cool but kind of creepy at the same time. I hope seeing a raven isn't an omen for the start of my holiday with my good friend Joan. Lots of golf and also making Steph's wedding invitations.

If this is Narnia would someone please kill the Ice Queen

Ok enough already!!!! It is snowing again today and I am beginning to think spring will never come. I think winter has hung on long enough. I am anxious to plant my garden, go golfing, see green grass(and I will even mow it), go outside without boots and winter coats, and see the sun.
Please go away Ice Queen and let spring come again.

CAMERA SHY

I have always hated having my picture taken and usually try to avoid the camera at all costs but today I have had a change of heart.
I was trying to find a picture of my mom for my Primary lesson and I looked through about 8 albums and could only find only 2 pictures. My mom hated having her picture taken and would almost get mad at us when we tried to take her picture, but now we have very few pictures of her to remember her by.
I came to realize that by being so paraniod about how I look in the picture I am taking something away from my children and grandchildren. I really miss my mom and I wish I had more pictures of her. Her grandchildren are hard pressed to remember her and what she looked like. I will try to be more co-operative of picture taking so that I can leave a photo geneology for my family.
After all a picture tells more than a thousand words.

Some of my greatest blessings call me GRANDMA

Joshua age 3

Trenton age 10 months

Isaiah age 2 (almost 3)
I am so blessed to have such cute grandsons. They bring joy into my life every time I see them. I was fortunate enough to have Jonathan, Amanda, Josh and Trent to visit this last weekend. They are able to visit often and I really enjoy having them come. I wish that Erin and Darrin and Isaiah lived closer. I miss not seeing them as often as I would like but I am excited about visiting them at Easter. I can hardly wait. I really enjoy being a grandma and love my kids and grandkids. Family is everything.

Maui In February! Just another day in Paradise!!!!! We have been having a blast here in Hawaii.
This was taken during a calm space before the waves got the better of me. Nadyne thought it was too calm here and that we should move in closer to get more of the wave. BAD IDEA!!!!
When we moved in we both got sent tumbling head over heel and when I came up I was missing my sunglasses. Gone forever in the surf, or so I thought. Jess decided he would go look for them and while I sat on the beach writing them off and trying to decide where I would go to get a new pair he went snorkling around the area where I lost them. And to my total surprise he FOUND them, a total miracle.
We have been on a helicopter tour, whale watching, on the road to Hana, and various other things. It has been so much fun. Tiring but fun. No rest for the wicked or those married to Jess Olsen hahhahaha.

When she wasn't looking...

I'm Lori and I never write on my blog!

Actually, it's Steph, but lets see how long it takes her to notice that I wrote a post for her. It's been forever since she's written on here!

Leave comments and tell her to write more! Hahaha.

LOVE,

STEPH.

Soooo Many Changes

What a lot of changes in our lives this summer. In July we moved to Cardston. I must say I love my house, especially now that it's pretty much set up and I have an awesome area for scrapbooking.(I only need to find the time to scrapbook now.) Sitting in Church that first Sunday was so weird. It felt like I was sitting in Stake Conference compared to the branch we were in in Drumheller. I felt so alone in this sea of people. It is starting to get better as we get to know a few people but there are still so many we don't know.
We had a busy summer, golfing and going to Waterton, and having all our kids come and visit. I loved having them here and hated it when they had to go home. It was fun having the grandsons here and watching Isaiah and Josh play together and become friends.
Then the day I was dreading came. The day we moved Stephanie to Calgary. I am excited for her and the new adventures she will have as she takes nursing at Mount Royal but it was so hard to leave her there. Many tears were shed that night. Mostly mine but I think a few on her part too.
So now Jess and I are empty nesters. It seems so weird to have only the two of us at home. I need to learn to cook for 2 instead of a whole family. Fortunately Calgary isn't all that far away and she can come home or we can go there to visit her or Jonathan and Amanda, and Brian lives here in Cardston so I see him and Sarah often. Now if we could just get Erin and Darrin closer.
At least Cardston is closer than Drumheller was.
So here we are,in Cardston, and on the whole enjoying it. Family, friends, and being close to the temple make it a good place to be. We have many blessings to count.
