So much has happened that I don't even know where to begin. I have been busy working in the office with Jess and enjoying spending time with my family and friends.<br />
Two new grandchildren have joined our family since the last post. Amanda and Jonathan had a little girl in June. She was born on June 17th ( my mom's birthday) and they named her Aria Louise( Louise is my mom's name). I'm sure mom was smiling down from heaven that day. So now I have 2 granddaughters.... so fun. <br />
On July 13th Ezra Jesse was born to Erin and Darrin. I was so blessed to be able to be in the delivery room with them and welcome him in to this world. There is something so special about being able to hold a baby that is so recently come from our Heavenly Father. I love it.<br />
Jess and I spent the summer golfing whenever we could slip away from work. So much fun and so much frustration at the same time. By the time I was getting pretty good fall and winter had to arrive... RATS!!! Oh well there is next year. I can hardly wait. I love spending time with Jess.<br />
We have been able to spend lots of time with our kids either here at home or going to visit them and that is so important to me. I love my family! I will have to post some family pics later.<br />
I will try to be better at posting. I think I kept thinking I had to have pictures to blog and so didn't do it. I will try to be better.<br />
Until later ( and I promise it won't be a year) have a great day!Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1535498811877132405.post-7082171581852915542010-12-15T08:33:00.000-08:002010-12-15T08:33:50.643-08:00My Family is Growing<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXuprUezsCu8zf6NBLlByHL51mgZhgKkJA89ugGDG06C4xk7j-Ewu4MACopfkrvYXnIc2FhOfDsu1aXbH6HJKUMvcBU0Vnh0ZxRMnbhKkhCqPXZay62E1VbDXVWOosRXgIiMnwCROTtXI/s1600/dscf0562.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXuprUezsCu8zf6NBLlByHL51mgZhgKkJA89ugGDG06C4xk7j-Ewu4MACopfkrvYXnIc2FhOfDsu1aXbH6HJKUMvcBU0Vnh0ZxRMnbhKkhCqPXZay62E1VbDXVWOosRXgIiMnwCROTtXI/s320/dscf0562.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>This beautiful angel joined our family on Saturday December 11 around 4 pm. While we were sitting there this huge raven decided to come and check us out. I was a little nervous that he was going to fly right into our car as he was not afraid of us at all. I think he was used to bumming food from unsuspecting motorists. Kind of cool but kind of creepy at the same time. I hope seeing a raven isn't an omen for the start of my holiday with my good friend Joan. Lots of golf and also making Steph's wedding invitations.<br /><br /><div></div></div>Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1535498811877132405.post-43619811031277005752010-05-06T09:07:00.000-07:002010-05-06T09:13:24.737-07:00If this is Narnia would someone please kill the Ice Queen<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8PPryUmH5I1ELys-JTth6YfAY2u643BVw0Ha0ui7mQh-iivrSYu2waOpRXf1Yp95syL9AL6XQVU38pKC4urxbY11kE0AbsaSKifThZiGeM0XGVclEnu1jlgdthc5I-yEvvvOsQgMbphc/s1600/IMG_2759.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468189906045547586" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8PPryUmH5I1ELys-JTth6YfAY2u643BVw0Ha0ui7mQh-iivrSYu2waOpRXf1Yp95syL9AL6XQVU38pKC4urxbY11kE0AbsaSKifThZiGeM0XGVclEnu1jlgdthc5I-yEvvvOsQgMbphc/s320/IMG_2759.jpg" /></a> Ok enough already!!!! My mom hated having her picture taken and would almost get mad at us when we tried to take her picture, but now we have very few pictures of her to remember her by.<br />I came to realize that by being so paraniod about how I look in the picture I am taking something away from my children and grandchildren. I really miss my mom and I wish I had more pictures of her. Her grandchildren are hard pressed to remember her and what she looked like. I will try to be more co-operative of picture taking so that I can leave a photo geneology for my family.<br />After all a picture tells more than a thousand words.Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1535498811877132405.post-12589953647162101922010-03-23T09:22:00.000-07:002010-03-23T09:35:12.025-07:00Some of my greatest blessings call me GRANDMA<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_ygtiMA4UeaRzXDiXKrcagqLaWoxaqLs9Wlm4QfunN-O-kkJmZk6Vql_q7yHKTFDFBgSF20Em79rdqZHjvqb4GEseXFcIAVn2H8QH7vWaJtaV0qFA0ctYvAo2sS9o6DZ-Kku_jq57cDA/s1600-h/IMG_2717.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451867676904822050" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_ygtiMA4UeaRzXDiXKrcagqLaWoxaqLs9Wlm4QfunN-O-kkJmZk6Vql_q7yHKTFDFBgSF20Em79rdqZHjvqb4GEseXFcIAVn2H8QH7vWaJtaV0qFA0ctYvAo2sS9o6DZ-Kku_jq57cDA/s320/IMG_2717.jpg" /></a> Joshua age 3<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOK2IHJYEWBSmLL4CUk6sf8kOHyfH7I_zCKVC141uZYZ2t79DRI1YvaqXbTN6DHZ3zfak1BWQweB9rMApMEXc04pCO43Uyo5FFXMZrcq28E30p0i89YgpvtZaTkg2UO3vPrjwBAxtUODo/s1600-h/IMG_2711.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451867671059638402" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOK2IHJYEWBSmLL4CUk6sf8kOHyfH7I_zCKVC141uZYZ2t79DRI1YvaqXbTN6DHZ3zfak1BWQweB9rMApMEXc04pCO43Uyo5FFXMZrcq28E30p0i89YgpvtZaTkg2UO3vPrjwBAxtUODo/s320/IMG_2711.jpg" /></a> Trenton age 10 months<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZdfEA2WBK9foEK9HJ9VM0mlrZaOO7UgvMJ6U33yZW59nI5oqxOWm333CYF0pgT7c8VhYWEu9pyNMAucpbHdgqV_yI65vqPtlYBYm-L1c9E3nfsv070AX2yf_-KJeTXpOR2NyXv1mBnWk/s1600-h/_MG_0007.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451867660308463330" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZdfEA2WBK9foEK9HJ9VM0mlrZaOO7UgvMJ6U33yZW59nI5oqxOWm333CYF0pgT7c8VhYWEu9pyNMAucpbHdgqV_yI65vqPtlYBYm-L1c9E3nfsv070AX2yf_-KJeTXpOR2NyXv1mBnWk/s320/_MG_0007.jpg" /></a> Isaiah age 2 (almost 3)</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>I am so blessed to have such cute grandsons. We have been having a blast here in Hawaii. <br />This was taken during a calm space before the waves got the better of me. Nadyne thought it was too calm here and that we should move in closer to get more of the wave. BAD IDEA!!!!<br />When we moved in we both got sent tumbling head over heel and when I came up I was missing my sunglasses. Gone forever in the surf, or so I thought. Jess decided he would go look for them and while I sat on the beach writing them off and trying to decide where I would go to get a new pair he went snorkling around the area where I lost them. And to my total surprise he FOUND them, a total miracle.<br />We have been on a helicopter tour, whale watching, on the road to Hana, and various other things. It has been so much fun. Tiring but fun. No rest for the wicked or those married to Jess Olsen hahhahaha.<br /><div> </div>Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1535498811877132405.post-46664284665784213042010-01-23T19:06:00.000-08:002010-01-23T19:10:34.725-08:00When she wasn't looking...<div>I'm Lori and I never write on my blog! </div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5430138319255786146" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5fXEONBjWyNDyH5e54ITimOnQ-b09cGZpLb2PrbQLflbZdnl5lCESVqghq7QPimby5haXEye4HEcCaeSL64xUnS1sb2I3mzNf-0_bcanDyLZKxB2XbNbmmdIUaPZp-D_OH2o7coBUzxM/s320/IMG_2390.JPG" /><br /><div>Actually, it's Steph, but lets see how long it takes her to notice that I wrote a post for her. In July we moved to Cardston. I must say I love my house, especially now that it's pretty much set up and I have an awesome area for scrapbooking.(I only need to find the time to scrapbook now.) Sitting in Church that first Sunday was so weird. It felt like I was sitting in Stake Conference compared to the branch we were in in Drumheller. I felt so alone in this sea of people. It is starting to get better as we get to know a few people but there are still so many we don't know.<br />We had a busy summer, golfing and going to Waterton, and having all our kids come and visit. I loved having them here and hated it when they had to go home. It was fun having the grandsons here and watching Isaiah and Josh play together and become friends.<br />Then the day I was dreading came. The day we moved Stephanie to Calgary. I am excited for her and the new adventures she will have as she takes nursing at Mount Royal but it was so hard to leave her there. <em> </em>Many tears were shed that night. Mostly mine but I think a few on her part too.<br />So now Jess and I are empty nesters. It seems so weird to have only the two of us at home. I need to learn to cook for 2 instead of a whole family. Fortunately Calgary isn't all that far away and she can come home or we can go there to visit her or Jonathan and Amanda, and Brian lives here in Cardston so I see him and Sarah often. Now if we could just get Erin and Darrin closer.<br />At least Cardston is closer than Drumheller was.<br />So here we are,in Cardston, and on the whole enjoying it. Family, friends, and being close to the temple make it a good place to be. We have many blessings to count.Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1535498811877132405.post-21552409752001103062009-06-23T08:31:00.000-07:002009-06-23T08:34:12.628-07:00The great EscapeSo I've been packing for the last few weeks and there is still no end in sight.... I can see the progress but still...<br />So Stephanie and I have been invited to go to Fairmont for a few days and we are going!!!! Yay!!<br />She is getting a break from her exams and I from the boxes and packing tape. <br />Hot Springs and golfing here we come!Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1535498811877132405.post-23095806456202128722009-06-14T17:20:00.001-07:002009-06-14T17:25:46.351-07:00MovingSo the house is sold now and the reality of moving has begun to set in. I have been packing all this last week but it just seems more real now. I have to say that I'm kind of sad to be moving. I will miss this house and the friends we have made here in Drumheller. ( I won't miss the goofy dinosaurs on every corner) I'm scared that things won't work out there or that we'll have a hard time adjusting. Silly I know, but going home isn't alway easy. Lots of positive things to look forward to: a golf course close by, 3 hours closer to Erin, living close to my sister and brother, being in a ward again instead of a branch, being close to the mountains, getting to know old friends again and so much more. Still there is still that fear and uncertainty. I guess once we get move it will all work itself out. Until then I guess I just need to suck it up and pack.Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1535498811877132405.post-29037068199344473042009-06-12T08:41:00.000-07:002009-06-12T08:56:38.025-07:00Drumheller's Got Talent<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUokR3s9NKAas4DwXH3xZHEsRwAmuOkFku8B-r_LF9l1lN0uqcmqL0FR2lYh40uFV7ZNFSOc8os_aLSavh4Pfq-QDUummi6xGGQwioBVlnEN4uJZCFf59vIDNJM7a1MBdrpxgQCMrhAvQ/s1600-h/_MG_9488.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346468712019461186" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUokR3s9NKAas4DwXH3xZHEsRwAmuOkFku8B-r_LF9l1lN0uqcmqL0FR2lYh40uFV7ZNFSOc8os_aLSavh4Pfq-QDUummi6xGGQwioBVlnEN4uJZCFf59vIDNJM7a1MBdrpxgQCMrhAvQ/s320/_MG_9488.jpg" border="0" /></a> I went to the high school choir's variety show last night entitled Listen to the Music.....<br />It was a really good show with lots of talent...... my favorite though was this girl .....(surprise......surprise)<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf2GG3LZ0bPqsL5xdfLfsZlsu256amQlZTuS2xydB9aGLy1mgiQF6YKeIr4wx2paG77HLRTVUDmKFpIEfyNio1OyevciKFtYqpYxVl0PI6gbuQk0YsQnWKFMWEv8SaYoRYh2hmrIXQsSo/s1600-h/_MG_9481.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346468706339457346" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf2GG3LZ0bPqsL5xdfLfsZlsu256amQlZTuS2xydB9aGLy1mgiQF6YKeIr4wx2paG77HLRTVUDmKFpIEfyNio1OyevciKFtYqpYxVl0PI6gbuQk0YsQnWKFMWEv8SaYoRYh2hmrIXQsSo/s320/_MG_9481.jpg" border="0" /></a> Here she is singing with the chamber choir....<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0jI0-ZuMyzXewr-nRS09nff2v8OsrbFDoG-7los1j1hkhvs2qpopGzMrqogVUBGzHz_4su8eMKAztGZL8sdGfqtHre3OWDG7xmLVZsmzdOjH1WiCNOxIhP2mAO1A44xhwlKh46328Myg/s1600-h/_MG_9462.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346468702284756322" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0jI0-ZuMyzXewr-nRS09nff2v8OsrbFDoG-7los1j1hkhvs2qpopGzMrqogVUBGzHz_4su8eMKAztGZL8sdGfqtHre3OWDG7xmLVZsmzdOjH1WiCNOxIhP2mAO1A44xhwlKh46328Myg/s320/_MG_9462.jpg" border="0" /></a> singing her solo..... This week my youngest child Stephanie turned 18. It's hard to believe that this day has arrived. Time seems to have been on warp speed and now she's all grown up and Jess and I will be empty nesters. I was asked to welcome her into Relief Society today and I didn't realize how hard that would be. I was crying before I even started. Man am I a big boob but them all my kids already know that. It was a neat experience to be able to do that . I'm grateful though for the blessing I've had to be her mother as well as the mother of Jonathan, Erin and Brian. All of them are such great kids. Now I get to watch them grow as people with their own lives and families and it is very gratifying and humbling to watch them. I love to hear my grandchildren say Hi Grandma and Hi Nana. Just want all of you to know how proud I am of all of you.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339581183968432898" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 232px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_59jH4SRn-FAv7PCXsMuqErHyi8SH2rK9oRsulZlDZeEPu20dqXdTPYKPWLlmhXRljzSgLGY1be05DCkNsVwRsiOwtvXUjYR44NbyhIzkAd6NJ35NnAXpgtc2Wwkao56I57OC9GCeDVw/s320/steph_0002.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339581192240540194" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 233px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6rWnYr4RBKg7FrfUsm7tDLZxq8cR8DXtrDHbDvz0NDKGem2asucCtjuJoqQvt7w3vo1wyj61qYSmQXk2CvDqKlDAPsfTZmdqZzSPlT-EQgGgtmZ8vL9M8wk3hdf8_u7RYeguTAsk2kQo/s320/steph_0003.jpg" border="0" /></div></div></div>Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1535498811877132405.post-4849933312560047782009-02-22T15:23:00.000-08:002009-02-22T15:26:18.452-08:00It's all new to me.Well I have decided to enter the world of blogging. I'm not exactly sure how this all works but I thought I'd give it a try. I enjoy reading other people's blogs to see how things are going in their lives. I guess I'll see how it all goes. Watch for my progress in this high tech world.Lori Olsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09902248720874061236noreply@blogger.com0
